Need a new rat model?  The RRRC in conjunction with the MU Animal Modeling Core (AMC) can assist with the generation of transgenic rats, create knock-out and knock-in rats using CRISPR/Cas9 technology and genetically manipulate rat embryonic stem cells to make chimeric animals.  Contact us to discuss your rat model needs and how we can help.

The first knockout rats created using homologous recombination in embryonic stem cells have been described by Tong et al. in a publication that will appear in Nature.  Work in the lab of Dr. Qi-Long Ying has resulted in a p53 knockout rat.  This model is being donated to the RRRC and will be available for future distribution.  To register interest in these p53 rats, email us at RRRC@missouri.edu
